Evolving News Labeling

Google is rolling out two features to give users more tools when looking at search results for topics related to news or evolving topics. One is the Highly Cited label for top stories and the other is more information about rapidly changing search results.

Product Comparison Rich Snippets

Google shows product comparisons, not only by price, but also reviews, colors, etc. All without leaving the Google interface.

Audible Elements in “People Also Ask”, Knowledge Panel, and Local Searches

Google is testing a new search feature for the “People Also Ask” section where you can listen to Google read the results of those snippets to you. There is a speaker play icon near each one.

This has also been included in local search results and knowledge panels.

Google SiteKit + Question Hub

Google expands the SiteKit tool (which allows you to connect with Google services: Analytics, Search Console, AdSense, Optimize, PageSpeed Insights, and Tag Manager) with Question Hub.

Although the tool is currently only available in India, Indonesia, and Nigeria, it is a good opportunity to explore its potential as a future source of ideas for new content.

Question Answered in Video

Google Video results will incorporate a feature that says if the video answers the question in your query. Google will label video results saying “X question answered in this video.” In addition, it shows you the place in the video where the question was answered.

Danny Richman created an AI version of Google’s John Mueller called MuellerBot. It was built from a script powered by GPT-3 to answer SEO questions as if John Mueller himself were answering them. It’s quite fun and sometimes scary in its accuracy.
